Program
In partnership with Salesforce’s veteran initiative VetForce, The Merivis Foundation has put together a comprehensive four week program which encompasses all aspects Salesforce administration, cloud computing, the tech industry and what it take to be successful in your new Salesforce career. The program consists of the following:
- Three weeks of virtual training & one week of in class room instruction with a certified Salesforce instructor
- 1 to 1 mentoring
- Background of Salesforce technology
- Overview, preparation & facilitated study sessions for Salesforce certification exam
- LinkedIn and resume guidance for Salesforce jobs
- Connections to companies in Texas hiring for Salesforce roles
With completion of this program, you will be on track to not only secure their first Salesforce certification, but will be connected to various companies and non-profits looking to hire veterans with Salesforce training. Our second cohort will take place in Austin Texas and begin towards the end of April 2016.
Salesforce Ecosystem
The Salesforce job market is growing rapidly at this time and companies across the United States are struggling to fill the gap with this talent. The biggest gap in the cloud technology market for Salesforce is the ready supply of Salesforce-Certified professionals: administrators, developers and business analysts. The Merivis Foundation will aim to close gap in ready Salesforce talent in Texas with highly skilled and readily available military veterans. The jobs in the Salesforce job market can vary in nature and experience needed and there are many companies in Texas looking to hire for these role. According to the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Salesforce jobs in this market alone have increases over 54% year of year! Job Search Support
The Merivis Foundation will work with veterans on best practices for interviewing and what employers are looking for in new hires. During the program, veterans will be exposed to guest speakers who have an understanding of what it is like to work in Salesforce roles. As veterans go through the program, they will also be exposed to personal branding guidance for both LinkedIn and social media to ensure optimal visibility online. The Merivis Foundation will host a networking event in which companies hiring will be in attendance to meet and greet our cohort of veterans. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet and greet potential employers in the Salesforce market.
